DJ is Professor of Bioprocess Engineering within the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Additionally, he is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Synthetic Genetic Systems Ltd (www.syngensys.com). His research and development endeavours, in collaboration with biopharmaceutical companies in the UK and US, leverage advanced methodologies such as computational modelling, bioinformatics, and systems and synthetic biology. These efforts are dedicated to two key areas: (i) Engineering of cells and vectors essential for enhancing biopharmaceutical and viral vector production, and (ii) Vector engineering for gene and cell therapy.
